Obituary for Sally Rose Metz (Hopkins)
Sally Rose Hopkins Metz, 66, of Weston passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 in United Hospital Center of Bridgeport following a brief illness. She was born in Baltimore, MD on May 27, 1953: daughter of the late Mack Hopkins and Mary (Whitt) Hopkins. On October 19, 1968, she married George Bernard Metz, who preceded her in death on August 9, 2011.
Mrs. Metz is survived by two daughters: Cynthia Cordwell and Brenda Metz both of Jane Lew and three sons: Bernard Metz of Weston, Mack Metz of Buckhannon and Michael Metz of Vadis. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Jamie Pratt, Bernard Metz, Skylar Rogers, Cory Williams, Chandra Metz, Lindsey Metz, Shyane Sexton and Jeffrey Yeager and 4 great-grandchildren: Emily Rose Pratt, Jaxton Lee Metz, Mason Andrew Pratt, Elijah Alexander Gregory and two on the way. Also surviving is 1 sister: Brenda Hopkins Chamberlain of Baltimore, MD and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by one brother: David Hopkins.
Mrs. Metz was a caregiver. She loved to cook and spend precious time with her family. Sally enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and animals. She will be greatly missed.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A Private Family Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman Family Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating.
