Obituary for Ruth Ann Burkhart (Ward)

Ruth Ann Burkhart, 91, of Butler, PA, formerly of Weston, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2019 in Sunnyview Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center Butler, PA. She was born in Weston on April 4, 1928: the daughter of the late Stephen P. Ward and Lillie E. (Rohrbough) Ward. Ruth was married to Herbert G. Burkhart who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Burkhart is survived by one daughter: Joyce Walsh of Butler, PA, 4 grandchildren: Jimmie Lipps, Stephanie Pletcher, Stephen (Joni) Walsh and George (Jared)Walsh, Jr. and two adopted grandchildren:Jordan Lipps and Montana Lipps, 4 great-grandchildren: Kiersten Pletcher, Brayden Lipps, Brycen Lipps and Amber Walsh and 1 great-great-grandchild: Kayden Carr and her special chihuahua (her baby) Lily Marlene. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Herbert, Ruth Ann was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Karen Lipps, 1 son: Stephen Weese, 4 brothers: Richard, Bill, Eugene and Robert Ward and 3 sisters: Betty Powell, Mary Robison and Barbara Ault.

Mrs. Burkhart worked at the WV Glass Specialty Company most of her life to raise 3 children, two of which preceded her in death. She was a member of the Weston Loyal Order of Moose #1376. Ruth Ann loved to play BINGO. She was the life of the party and will be missed by all who loved her.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 12:00 noon from the Broad Run Church Cemetery of Jane Lew with Reverend Russell Furr officiating.
