Obituary for Russell Lynn Locke
Russell Lynn Locke, 72, of Horner, WV, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the Bridgeport Health Care Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born in Auburn, WV on August 18, 1950, son of the late Frederick and Wilda (Mullenix) Locke. Russ was united in marriage on August 28, 1993, to his loving wife Linda (Warren) Locke, who survives.
Cherishing their memories of Russ are three sons; Neal Locke and wife, Nicole of Uniontown, PA, Todd Locke and wife, Jill of Minerva, OH, and Jason Nealis of Horner, WV, 2 daughters; Elizabeth Locke Witt and husband, Dale of Cabot, AR and Sarah Moore and husband, Craig of Bridgeport, WV, 11 grandchildren; Hayley, Blake, Oliver, Piper, Lennon, Bentley, Benjamin, Dawson, Caspian, Kiersten, and Mary, 3 sisters; Martha Baker and late husband, Charles of Washington, WV, Doris Jean Turk and husband, Wayne of Cameron, WV, and Phyllis Michael and husband, Don of Ravenswood, WV, and several nieces and nephews.
Russ was the owner and operator of Rulin Construction of Horner, WV and later became the Preacher at the Troy Baptist Church, in Troy, WV. Russ had a love for sports and spent many years officiating high school football, coached youth baseball, and served as the Head Coach for the Lewis County High School Baseball team for one year. Russ and his wife Linda enjoyed traveling and cherished traveling to Alaska two years to see daughter, Elizabeth. Russ also took a “Bucket List” trip to Colorado with his sons Neal and Todd, where he was able to kill a Bull Elk of a lifetime. He enjoyed spending time walleye fishing on Lake Erie with his friend Gary Bates. Russ loved tending to his vegetable garden and was known for making his homemade salsa. Most of all, Russ cherished his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and also on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jay Burkhart officiating.
