Obituary for Russell Hugh Lane Jr.
Russell Hugh Lane, Jr. 77, of Weston, passed away on Friday, December 17th, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on November 17th, 1944, son to the late Russell Hugh Lane, Sr. and Anna Ruth (Rexroad) Lane. Hugh was united in marriage on August 7th, 1966 to Nancy Lou (Francis) Lane who preceded him in death on April 18th, 1990
Forever cherishing Hugh’s life are two sons: Jeffery Shawn Lane of Horner, WV and Timothy Scott Lane of Weston, WV, 3 grandchildren: Matthew Craig Lane, Brooklyn Nicole Lane and Megan Elizabeth Lane, 1 step grandchild Haley Jade Becker, 1 step great-grandchild Ivy Virginia Becker, 2 sisters: Anna Gay Snyder and Tressie George both of Buckhannon, WV, 1 brother: Marshall Lane of Buckhannon and his fiancé Jeanie Lively.
In addition to his parents and wife, Hugh was preceded in death by one son Gregory John Lane.
Hugh was a graduate of Upshur County High School class of 1962. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. Hugh enjoyed attending County Fairs and gardening. He also loved to take in the beautiful scenery of the West Virginia Mountains in the fall. Hugh will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home at 730 N. Main Avenue Weston, WV on Tuesday, December 21st, 2021 from 11AM-1PM. The funeral service will begin at 1pm from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob King officiating. Interment will follow services at the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon, WV.
