Roy Lee Skinner, 93, of Roanoke passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born in Orlando, WV on May 27, 1926: son of the late Delmar Skinner and Icie (Gay) Skinner. On August 17, 1951, he married Delma Jean (Foster) Skinner, who survives.
Mr. Skinner is also survived by one sister: Mary Francis Wine of Youngstown, OH and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: James, Elmer and Benjamin Skinner and one sister: Augustine Matthews.
Mr. Skinner was head sawyer with Craig’s Saw Mill for several years and also run dozer. Roy enjoyed gardening. He also loved feeding and watching his birds. Actually he enjoyed all the animals around his house.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Bob Mitchell officiating.
