Obituary for Rosa Irene Sisk (Conrad)

Rosa Irene Conrad Sisk, 91, of US Highway 19N Jane Lew passed away at her home following an extended illness. She was born in Braxton County on February 3, 1928: daughter of the late Boyd William Conrad and Artie Mae (Wine) Conrad. On August 5, 1960, she married Charles C. Sisk, who preceded her in death on June 26, 1999.
Mrs. Sisk is survived by one sister: Nancy A. Singleton of Orlando and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by four brothers: Benjamin F. Conrad, Thomas B. Conrad, James L. Conrad and Roy G. Conrad and six sisters: Ressie B. Allen, Nina M. Blake, Lona Gay Claypoole, Virginia Lou Young, Reba G. Ratliff and Noretta Colene Allen.
Rosa was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Weston since 1970. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Weston State Hospital eleven years from 1946 to 1957. She started to Morgantown Beauty School in 1957 and graduated in the fall of 1958. Rosa owned and operated Conrad’s Beauty Shop for 40 years. She was a member of the Weston Chapter#40 Order of Eastern Star and was an AARP member since 1985. Rosa enjoyed the outdoors and loved to bird watch.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Delmas Singleton officiating. Weston Chapter#40 Order of Eastern Star will conduct rites on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow services in the Broad Run Church Cemetery of Jane Lew, WV.
