Obituary for Robert Benjamin "Ben" Sams

Robert Benjamin “Ben” Sams, 39, of Alum Bridge, WV passed away on Thursday, November 25th, 2021 in Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown, WV. He was born in Weston on June 19th, 1982: son of Bob Sams and Debbie (Heater) Sams of Alum Bridge, WV.

In addition to his parents, Ben’s memory will always be cherished by his only daughter: Kimber Sams of Buckhannon and his girlfriend: Kayla Tenney of Weston. Ben’s paternal grandparents are the late Bob and Peggy Sams and his step grandmother: Mary Jo Sams of Parkersburg and maternal grandparents: the late Luther Heater and Hallie Heater. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mr. Sams was a cook at the Western Steer of Weston, Stonewall Resort of Roanoke and the 88 Restaurant of Buckhannon. He was a graduate of Lewis County High School with the class of 2000 and later was a graduate of Glenville State College with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. Earlier in his young life, Ben liked to hunt and fish. Mostly he enjoyed being in the woods and the outdoors in general. He had several guns and loved shooting them and also collected knives. Ben loved meeting people and never knew a stranger. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his precious daughter, Kimber and being her father.

Family and friends will be received at the Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. when funeral services will be held in the Hardman Family Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating.
