Obituary for Robert Lewis "Farmer" Horner

Robert Lewis "Farmer" Horner, 72, of Ridgeway Drive Weston passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center of Clarksburg following a sudden illness. He was born in Jacksonburg, WV on September 17, 1947: son of the late Robert Edward Horner and Geneva Lucretia Elder Horner. Mr. Horner is married to Lela Victoria (Guy) Horner, who survives.
Mr. Horner is also survived by four children: Heather Lucretia McCoy of Clarksburg, Harley Lee Horner of Tennesee, Ginny Lee Horner of Maine and Joshua Aaron Horner of West Virginia, five grandchildren: Ashley Jo Vincent, Emma Desiree McCoy, Isabelle Vasquez, Tristan Carmichael and Jake Fillmore and one great-granddaughter: Stella Jolee Wright. He is also survived by one sister: Wanda Scates of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Horner was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a private first class in the Vietnam War. Robert loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle, watch Old Westerns and loved to drink Dr. Pepper even though he was diabetic. He was a great storyteller and was good at cracking jokes. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids.
At his wishes, a graveside service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the WV National Cemetery of Pruntytown, WV with full military honors rendered by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard.
