Obituary for Robert Lee Garrison
Robert Lee Garrison, 69, of Arnold Street Weston passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston following an extended illness. He was born in Concord, KY on July 3, 1949: son of the late Albert W. Garrison and Rosa Bell (Leek) Garrison.
Mr. Garrison is survived by one daughter: Anita Dawn Whitehair, one brother: Jack Garrison and wife Janice of Capon Bridge, WV, one sister: Janie Margaret Gabbart of Virginia Beach, VA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one daughter: Gina Lee Boher Solize, one sister: Patricia Ann Gabbard, one ½ brother: James Vance and one ½ sister: Geneva Blevins.
Mr. Garrison worked for a gas station in Aurora, IN and also on Riverboats in Indiana. When he moved to West Virginia he also worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways for a little while.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of the VFW Post #1976 and attended the Veterans Healing Waters Program at the Veterans Administration Hospital of Clarksburg, WV. Robert enjoyed fishing and Fly tying. He also made crafts and attended craft shows over the years.
Robert’s request for cremation will be honored and a private entombment will be carried out at the West Virginia National Cemetery at Pruntytown, WV with Military Honors. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Robert may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
