Obituary for Ricky William Wilson
Ricky William Wilson, 61, of Jane Lew passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at his mother’s home following a sudden illness. He was born in Weston on October 29, 1960: loving son of Nellie Virginia (McQuain) Wilson of Weston and the late Sharl William Wilson.
Cherishing Ricky’s memory will be three children: Rosalie Soto and husband Saul of Rotterdam, NY, Jessica Wilson of Otisville, NY and Justin Wilson of Amsterdam, NY and 4 grandchildren, Donovan, Adriana and Alexander Soto and Adelina McVoy. Also cherishing Ricky’s memory are three siblings: Vickie Streichert of Valley Cottage, NY, Russell Wilson of Pomona, NY and Tammy Wilson of Weston and several nieces and nephews.
Ricky was a graduate of North Rockland High School of Stony Point, NY. He was a veteran of The United States Air Force. Ricky worked coating airplane parts at MRC Technologies for many years and then went to Advanced Coating Technologies for about 10 years. These companies were both in New York. He recently settled back home in West Virginia and started farming on the beloved Wilson Farm in Jane Lew raising cattle and chickens. While in West Virginia, he also worked in the Oil & Gas Industry with Oil & Gas Roustabouts of Jane Lew, WV for the few years.
In addition to farming, Ricky enjoyed fishing and hunting. He taught his nephew Aiden to hunt on the family farm. He was a loving, father, son and uncle, always doing his best to give advice to his family members and friends when needed. He was a hard worker who never stopped. Ricky will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 4 p.m. from the Hardman Family Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Brian Plum officiating. Following services and at the family’s request, Ricky will be cremated and a private interment of his ashes will be held at the Wilson Farm in Jane Lew, WV at their convenience.
