Obituary for Richard Earl Strader
Richard Earl Strader, 91, of Pennsylvania, passed away on July 10, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Orlando, WV on April 1, 1931, a son of the late Linzy Earl and Mae Elizabeth (Posey) Strader. On October 27, 1962, Richard was united in marriage to Wanda Sue (Wilson) Strader and together they shared a loving 59 years.
In addition to his wife Wanda, cherishing the memories of Richard are 1 daughter; Susan Strader of Crescent Township, PA, 1 grandchild and hunting buddy; Melissa Strader of Virginia, 5 brothers; James Strader of OH, John Strader of WV, Ray Strader of WV, Franklin Strader of WV, and Junior Strader of OH, 3 sisters; Mina Luzader of WV, Shirley Williams of WV, and Ivy Gibson of WV, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a son Brian Keith Strader, 2 brothers; Wesley Riffle and Herbert Lane Strader, and 2 sisters; Glenna Lipps and infant Louise Strader.
Richard had retired as a Machinist from the Caliq Steel Drum Company of Neville Islands, PA. He also had a Lawn Service from the years of 1985 to 2020. Richard enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, gardener, bee keeper, canner and jelly maker. He was a great storyteller and kids loved him. Richard will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston, WV on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 4PM-7PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Orlando United Methodist Church in Orlando, WV at 11AM with Pastor Bryon Bukovesky officiating. Mr. Strader will lie in state at the church from 10 am until 11 am. Interment will follow services at the Posey Cemetery in Orlando, WV.
