Richard Layne Moody, 69, of Weston, WV, Pricetown community, passed away on Friday, June 19th, 2020 at his home following an extended illness. He was born in Weston, on April 15th, 1951: son of the late William Lawrence Moody and Madeline Lamb Moody. On June 26th, 1971 he married Patty West Moody, who survives.

Richard is also survived by 1 daughter: Angela M. Moody of Weston, 2 sons: Brian Layne Moody and Christopher Todd Moody both of Weston and 3 grandchildren: Dylan Layne Moody, Kolten Todd Moody and Caitlyn Nicole Moody. He is also survived by 1 brother: Danny Moody of Weston, WV, 2 sisters: Reba Jane Blake of Culleoka, TN and Mary Sue Taylor of Weston, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by 1 brother: Bob Moody and 1 sister: Karen Bailey.

Mr. Moody was a retired operator with Hallliburton of Weston with 38 years of service. He was a graduate at Weston High School with the class of 1969. He was a consultant for Mountain View Oil and Gas. Richard loved the outdoors, farming, and loved to get on his tractor and ride over the hill.

Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home of Weston, WV on Monday, June 22nd, 2020 from 11:00AM until 1:00PM. A private funeral service will be held at 1:00PM from the Hardman Family Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Martin Wine officiating.
