Obituary for Rebecca Ruth Linger (Taylor)
Rebecca Ruth Linger, 88, of Jane Lew passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Crestview Nursing Home of Jane Lew, WV. She was born in Gilmer County on March 17, 1933: daughter of the late Emory C. Taylor and Mabel (Williams) Taylor. Ruth was first married to Jack Lamb who preceded her in death. Later in life she married Dana Linger, who also preceded her.
Ruth is lovingly survived by one sister: Lorema Winemiller of Weston and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers: Lawrence Taylor and Emory C. Taylor, Jr.
Mrs. Linger was a glassworker with the Colonial Glass Factory of Weston and later with the Jane Lew Glass Factory. When she was younger, Ruth attended the Presbyterian Church of Weston. Ruth loved horses and enjoyed collecting and riding them. She enjoyed watching TV but her favorite joy was writing to her pen pals. Although Ruth had no children, her siblings and their families were special to her.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow services. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Ruth may be expressed at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com.
