Obituary for Norma Jean Cayton
Norma Jean Cayton, 89, of Clarksburg, WV went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 7th, 2021 in Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a lingering illness. She was born in Jane Lew, WV on July 26th, 1931: daughter of the late Basil Allman and Mildred (Wyant) Allman. On October 14th, 1950, she married T.E. Cayton, who preceded her in death on December 3rd, 2005.
Mrs. Cayton was blessed with three children: Janet Casto and husband Alvin of Clarksburg, Ronnie Cayton and wife Susan of South Carolina, the late Linda Lewis and husband John of Front Royal, VA. She was also blessed with 4 grandchildren: Jamie Buelinski (Gerry), Larhonda McFerren and husband Steven, Joshua Cayton (Jessica), and Amber Cayton, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Cayton is also survived by three siblings: Jack Allman of Jane Lew, Sona Dempsey of Jane Lew and Joyce Williams of Perry, OH and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband T.E. Cayton, Norma Jean was preceded in death by one daughter: Linda Lewis, two twin infant daughters: Peggy and Patty Cayton, one brother: Larry Allman and two sisters: Janet Stalnaker and Becky Rollyson.
Mrs. Cayton was a seamstress with Weston Laundry for several years. She was a graduate of Jane Lew High School with the class of 1949. Norma Jean was a member of the McCann’s Run United Methodist Church and the Lewis County Emergency Squad. She liked to complain about things around her. Her hobbies included shopping and traveling as much as possible. She will be missed by her family, friends as well as her church family.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman Family Funeral Home on Thursday, July 15th, 2021 from 12 p.m. until 1 pm when funeral services will begin with Reverend Jerry Garrett officiating.
