Obituary for Mildred Mae "Millie" Bowers

Mildred Mae “Millie” Bowers, 84, of the Pricetown Community, Weston, went on to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wheeling, WV on July 21, 1936: daughter of the late Charles T. Clark and Leona (Holmes) Clark. Millie first married Arthur Friend, Sr. of Wellsburg, WV,she then married James Branham and afterwards Jack Bowers who both preceded her in death.

Millie was blessed with three daughters: Bonnie Lou Monnett of Weston, Sally Ann (Thomas) Alkire of Weston and Connie Mae Friend (deceased), one son: Arthur Joseph Friend, Jr. (deceased), five grandchildren: Kenneth Edward Monnett(Bobbie), Brandi Leeanne Waugh(Rob), Frank Edward Monnett, Jr., Cindi Lee Alkire and Thomas Joseph Alkire, II (Kayla), 10 great-grandchildren,12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by two brothers: Charles “Buddy” E. Clark and her twin: Melvin Clark and two sisters: Virginia McAdoo and Helen Kininski.

Millie worked as a nurse’s aide for several years. She was a graduate of West Liberty High School in Ohio County, WV and was a member of the Weston Church of God. Her hobbies included crafts, scrapbooking and playing cards. She loved spending time with her family and will be missed by family and friends.

Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 from 11:00am-1:00pm with the funeral service beginning at 1:00pm from the funeral home chapel with Brother Ryan Seabolt officiating.
