Obituary for Matthew James Snyder
Matthew James Snyder, 73, of Roanoke, WV passed away on Wednesday, June, 24th 2020 at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born in Weston, WV on August 8, 1946: son of George Snyder and Mildred Murphy Snyder. On September 3rd, 1967, he married Francine DeFranco Snyder, who survives.
Matthew is survived by two daughters: Melissa Giggenbach and husband Bader of Morgantown, WV and Leigh Lawrence and husband Will of Stephen City, VA and one son: Matthew Snyder Jr. of Roanoke, WV. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Snyder was a retired carpenter and lifelong farmer. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School with the class of 1964. Matthew enjoyed hunting and fishing and making memories with his family and friends.
Mr. Snyder’s wishes to be cremated were honored and there will be a Celebration of Life Service in Memory of Matthew at a later date.
