Obituary for Mason Patrick Murray
Mason Patrick Murray, 17, of Weston passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022. He was born on November 15, 2004 in Charleston, WV forever blessing the life of his mother, Theresa (Cogar) Turner.
Mason will forever be remembered in the eyes of his parents Theresa and Jamie Turner, 1 brother: Reece Turner, maternal grandparents: Donna Cogar and the late Terry Cogar of Weston, paternal grandparents: Gary Turner and Pam Turner of Jane Lew, 3 uncles: Brice Cogar and wife Kellie of Elkins, Dustin Cogar and wife Hanna of Weston, and Chad Turner and wife Tammy of Weston and many cousins and friends.
From the little boy, obsessed with the Disney movie “Cars”, constantly riding his “Mater” tri-cycle and figuring out ways to tow anything that “needed” towed with it, to the young man who had perfected his musical skills on guitar, French horn, bass, piano, and vocally-Mason’s skills and talents never ceased to amaze. Mason was an honor student at Lewis County High School, where he was a member of the Choir, Marching Minutemen, and LC Blue Bluegrass group. Mason’s talents led to many achievements throughout the years, including being chosen for All State Choir, All State Band, and the WVU Honor Band. Even when he decided on a whim to play tennis his sophomore year, he found success, as he and his doubles partner were one win away from making it to the State Tournament. More than anything, Mason was someone always willing to help others-whether it was helping his Noni and Papaw around the house, or helping at his little brother’s sporting events, or helping complete strangers load their groceries-he always helped, with no hesitation or complaints. Mason’s very talented and kind nature will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved him, including his beloved Pug, Eli, and his cat, Ozzy.
At the request of his parents, Mason’s cremation has been honored by Hardman Family Funeral Home of Weston. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Online condolences and life stories in memory of Mason may be expressed at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com.
