Obituary for Mary Etta Taylor

Mary Etta Taylor, 76, of Weston passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 following a brief illness at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was born in Weston on January 4, 1946, daughter of the late Floyd Burkhammer and Freda (Harris) Burkhammer. Mary was united in marriage on June 18, 1964 to the late Emory Clay Taylor, Jr., who preceded her in death on January 25, 1993.

Cherishing Mary’s life are 2 sons: Samuel Taylor and wife Suzanne of Weston and Steve Taylor and wife Teresa of Weston, 8 grandchildren: Andy Taylor, Jackson Taylor, Audrey Taylor, Courtney Taylor, Tristan Taylor, Courtney Mathess, Skyler Jones, and Jonathan Jeffries, 4 great grandchildren: Noah Griffith, Dakota Griffith, Savannah Mathess, and Amythest Bowser, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Charles, Glen, Richard, and Darrel Burkhammer, and 1 sister: Clara Cutright.

Mary was a loving daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and aunt. She attended the Waldeck United Methodist Church. Mary loved to go camping with her family. While camping she enjoyed watching her family play cornhole and playing board games with them. She also enjoyed playing games on her phone and computer. Mary cherished every moment spent with her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 11AM-1PM. The funeral service will begin at 1PM from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow services at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Jane Lew.
