Obituary for Mary Lou Myers (Linger)

Hard working hands and a golden heart stopped beating as Mary Lou Myers, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Hospital of Weston, WV. She was born in Weston on November 14, 1937, daughter of the late Wayne H. and Margaret Virginia Bailey Linger. Mary Lou was united in marriage to the love of her life, James R. Myers on June 15, 1957, who survives. Together they shared a wonderful 66 years.

Cherishing the life of Mary Lou are her husband, Jim, 2 daughters; Sherri Myers Perkey and husband Randy of Houston, TX and Jamie Myers Bayless and husband William of Austin, TX, 5 grandchildren; Ryan Bayless, Lauren Bayless Feeley, Matthew Perkey, Adam Perkey, and Aaron Perkey, 7 great grandchildren; Blakely Bayless, Barrett Bayless, Bowen Bayless, M.J. Feeley, Adaline Feeley, James Dean Perkey, and Michael Calvin Perkey, 2 brothers; Donald Eugene Linger of Jane Lew and Wayne Douglas Linger and wife Sandy of Weston, 1 sister; Janice Stalnaker and husband Jack of Weston, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Bailey.

Mary Lou was a graduate of Weston High School. She retired from the Lewis County Clerk’s Office in 2014 with 30 years of service. She had also previously served on the Lewis County Commission for 6 years. She was a member of the Broad Run Baptist Church in Jane Lew and of the Weston Chapter #40 Order of Eastern Star of Weston. Mary Lou loved working in her flowers beds, tending to her pond of goldfish & also enjoyed shopping and sewing. The absolute light and joy of her life was her husband, daughters, grandchildren & great grandchildren. Mary Lou has touched many lives in her lifetime and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 3 p.m.-5p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 11a.m. from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bill Coffindaffer and Pastor Allen Burnsworth officiating.
