Obituary for Mary Ann Hefner

Mary Ann Hefner, 61, of Weston went peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Wednesday, November 11th, 2020 following an extended illness. She was born on March 3rd, 1959 in Weston to the late Roy E. Dean and Betty L. (Burkhammer) Dean, who survives. Mary Ann was united in marriage to her loving husband of 42 years Garry L. Hefner, who survives.

Mary Ann is also survived by two daughters Rebecca Ball and husband Joseph and Jessica Luzader both of Weston, WV. She had four grandchildren Daelynn, Camden and Logan Luzader and Josiah Ball whom were her pride and joy. She was also survived by one brother Robert Dean and two very special sister-in-laws June Dean and Kate Blake. In addition to her father, Mary Ann was preceded in death by three brothers David, Tommy and Kenneth Dean.

Mary Ann was a Christian by faith. She was a graduate of Lewis County High School in 1977. After high school she worked at United Bank in Weston, WV following obtaining a Business Degree at West Virginia Business College. Later in life Mary Ann attended Davis and Elkins College and earned her Associates Degree in Nursing and found her calling in life. Mary Ann was a very dedicated and passionate nurse for 22 years. She began her nursing career at Meadowview Manor in Bridgeport, WV then went to Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital and finished her professional career at United Hospital Center after working there for 18 years.

Mary Ann was a very loving and caring wife and mother. She was the go-to mom for all of her girls after school activities. No matter what activities her girls were a part of, Mary Ann made it her top priority to be involved in every aspect to support not only her girls but all of the other kids involved as well. She had a big heart for animals and loved her adopted rescue dog “Chloe Bug” dearly. Mary Ann touched many people’s lives and will be missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston, WV on Monday, November 16th, 2020 from 11:00-1:00 PM. Funeral service will start at 1:00 PM from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow services at Lewis County Memorial Gardens of Weston, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions made to the Cardiac Program at United Hospital Center.
