Obituary for Margene L. Wentz (Swisher)
Margene L. Wentz, 92, of Weston passed away on Monday, January 2nd, 2023 at her home. She was born in Milletus, WV on August 29th, 1930: daughter of the late Orbie Swisher and Nora Pauline (Morgan) Swisher. On December 3rd, 1952, she married Melvin “Buck” Wentz, who preceded her in death on February 14th, 2011.
Cherishing her memories are three children: Melvin “Buddy” Wentz, Jr., Pauline Wentz and Richard Wentz all of Weston, two grandchildren: Dawn Fraser and Erin Van Buren both of Weston, eight great grandchildren: Kayla Bleigh, Nora Fraser, Haley Alderman, Sophia Smith, Brandon Posey, Emily Van Buren, Quentin and Wyatt Posey and two great great grandchildren: Braylynn Clem and Sonny Smith. Also cherishing her memory are three siblings: Basil Swisher and wife Jeanie of Morgantown, Evelyn Pavese of New Jersey, Helen Nicholson of Weston and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Buck, Mrs. Wentz was also preceded in death by one brother: Wendell Swisher.
Mrs. Wentz retired as a cafeteria worker with Center High School of Monoca, PA. She was a graduate of Weston High School with the class of 1949 and was a member of the Currydale CEO’s of New Milton for several years. Her hobbies included quilting and embroidery, working in her flower garden and travelling.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, January 5th 2023 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral services will follow visitation at 2:00p.m.from the Hardman Family Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Audria Thomason officiating.
