Obituary for Mamie Madalene Lamb
A beautiful lady with a beautiful soul, Mamie Madalene Lamb, 92, of Weston passed away on Friday, September 3rd, 2021 at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown. She was born in Lewis County on April 21st, 1929, daughter of the late: Homer Westfall Sprouse and Jane (Lattea) Sprouse. Mamie was united in marriage on January 13th, 1947 to Clarence “Doc” Lamb, who preceded her in death on February 8th, 1998.
Forever cherishing the memories of Mamie are 1 daughter: Debbie McVay and husband Bill of Weston, 1 son: Dave Lamb and wife Diana of Weston, 10 grandchildren: Missy Barrett, Aaron Lamb, Chad Lamb, Russel Mathews, Johnathan Walker, Gayla Pinkney, Dave Mathews, Bridget Lamb, Bryan Lamb and Travis Brown, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mamie was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Gloria Jean Walker, 2 sons: Rick Lamb and Steve Lamb and 2 sisters: Alice Rollyson and Marie Stout.
Mamie had worked at G. C. Murphy’s at the candy counter for 10 years and at the Weston State Hospital in Dietary for 12 years. She was a member of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Mamie loved writing recipes and cooking for her family and friends. She loved music. Mamie enjoyed her weekly Sunday visits from Mackie and Becky, Mike and Kathy and Gary. Most of all, Mamie cherished spending time and making memories to last a lifetime with her family and friends.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021 from 11:00am-1:00pm. The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Jerry Bean officiating. Interment will follow services at Rock Grove Cemetery in Linn, WV.
