Obituary for Lona Elta Henry
Lona Elta Henry, 86, of Weston, passed away on Sunday August 2nd, 2020 in Buckhannon, WV. She was born on February 24th, 1934 in Weston, WV daughter to the late Edward and Phoebe Parmer. She was joined in marriage to the late George Henry who preceded her in death.
She is survived by 4 daughters: Joetta Anderson of Jane Lew, Barbara Dadisman (Roy) of Philippi, Rebecca Bales husband John (deceased) of Weston, Kathy Burkhammer (Gene) of Weston, 1 son: Frank Donaldson (Renee) of Weston, 1 daughter-in-law: Candace Donaldson of Weston, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 1 son: Wayne Donaldson, 2 infant daughters, 3 brothers: Bill, Jake, and Marley Parmer, and 3 sisters: Lucy Crites, Daisy Collins, and Mary Rexrode and 1 grandson: Michael Snyder. She was also preceded in death by a special friend Richard Elliott.
Lona was retired from the Weston State Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and canning food from her garden. She loved her longtime companion “Scooter” her dog.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 North Main Avenue of Weston, WV on Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 from 6-8PM with a private family funeral service on Thursday, August 6th at 1PM from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating.
