Linda Kay (Smith) Starett, 73, of Weston, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. She was born in Weston on March 31, 1949, daughter of the late Richard L. and Mabel E. (McClain) Smith. On August 18, 1967, Linda was united in marriage to Charles E. “Ed” Starett, together they shared a wonderful 55 years.
In addition to her husband Ed, forever cherishing their memories of Linda are her daughter, Christy Walton and husband, Bryan, of Weston, son, Joe Starett and wife, Gina, of Jane Lew, 3 grandchildren; Travis Walton, Emma Starett, and Hunter Starett, 2 great grandchildren; Ashtyn and Kamdyn Walton, 3 sisters; Mary Rittenhouse of Weston, Wanda Wilson of Parkersburg, and Karen Suttle of Weston, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Smith, and 3 brother in laws; Russell Rittenhouse, Owen Suttle, and Larry Rittenhouse.
Linda was a graduate of Weston High School. She was a Methodist by faith and was a member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church. Linda cherished her time being a full time Mom and Mamaw. Being a fierce competitor, Linda enjoyed playing cards with her family, especially gin rummy and war, and dominoes. Linda loved working in her flower beds and watching the birds out her windows. Most of all, Linda loved being at home surrounded by her loving family and will be missed dearly.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 4PM-7PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10:30AM from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Doug Smailes officiating.
