Obituary for Leonard McArthur "Mack" Minigh
Leonard McArthur Minigh, 80 years old, of Jane Lew, passed away on Wednesday March 8, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Leonard, known as Mack to family and friends, was born to Paul Wilson and Margaret Marie (Moss) Minigh on May 10, 1942 on Little Bull Run, Gilmer County, WV. He grew up the oldest of 11 brothers and sisters and attended Normantown High School graduating in 1959. He started his career in 1965 as a plumber/pipe fitter for Local Union 152, where he worked until his retirement in 2003. He was a proud member of Plumbers and Pipefitters U.A. Union 152 Morgantown, WV for 57 years.
In 1964, he married Peggy Ann Shiflet, and they lived in Weston. They later moved to Jane Lew and lived there until her death in 1986.
Leonard “Mack” Minigh is survived by his daughter, Julia (Julie) Ann Stewart, her husband Jason, and their son, Jacob of Sand Fork, Gilmer County and his son, Perry Leonard Minigh, his wife Sharon, and their sons, Isaac and Elijah of Jane Lew, WV. His companion, Naomi Jean (Mammy) Barnes and her family also survive, including her daughter, Robin McDonald (Jesse), granddaughter: Cassie Coe, grandson: Noah Lehosit, and special great-granddaughter Tegan Coe.
Leonard was preceded in death by a brother, Wilford “Tinker” Minigh in 2011.
Brothers and sisters surviving are: Paullette Beall (Peter) of Weston, Roger Minigh of Cedarville, Robert Minigh (Becky) of Cedarville, Paul “Tootie” Minigh (Pam) of Glenville, June McCartney (Patrick) of Sand Fork, Marvin Minigh of Cedarville, Pamela Minigh (Rebecca) of Jane Lew, Patrick Minigh of Cedarville, and Annette Intihar (Dean) of Willoughby, OH, along with many nieces and nephews.
Leonard was an avid hunter for many years and enjoyed working outdoors. He spent countless hours with his loving dog, Gracie, and always had a project to work and one more waiting to keep busy.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home, 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston, on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 12:00 p.m., visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Kevin Jones officiating from Cox’s Mills, WV.
