Obituary for Leona Myrtle Runnestrand (Sharps)
Leona Myrtle Runnestrand, 88, of Weston passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in Mon General Hospital of Morgantown following a sudden illness. She was born in Lewis County on March 1, 1931: daughter of the late William B. Sharps and Dessie M. (Sprouse) Sharps. On May 6, 1952, she married James Edward Runnestrand, who preceded her in death on March 15, 2000.
Mrs. Runnestrand is survived by her only daughter: Sharon Runnestrand of Weston. In addition to her parents and husband James, Leona was also preceded in death by one brother: Fred Blain Sharps.
Mrs. Runnestrand worked at the F. & M. Lunch in Weston. She attended the Broad Street United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She loved to cook and shop.
At the family’s request Leona will be cremated and a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from the Peterson Cemetery of Weston with Reverend Russell Furr officiating.
