Obituary for Layman Dwayne Wiant

Layman Dwayne Wiant, 70, of Horner passed away Friday, May 28th, 2021 at United Hospital Center. He was born on July 19th, 1950 to the late Arnett Wiant and Mary (Neal) Wiant. Layman was united in marriage on January 26th, 2005 to Judith (Brookover) Wiant who survives.

Layman is survived by 1 daughter: Carmen Vanessa Butcher and companion Bruce Butcher of Jane Lew, 1 son: Bradley Daniel Wiant of Fairmont, 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers: Roscoe Clinton Wiant of Nutterfort, Arnett Clayton Wiant of Jane Lew and Kenneth Arvil Wiant of Weston and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Layman was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Delmas Brenton Wiant and Glendon Bradley Wiant.

Layman was a self-employed carpenter and in his later years worked in the oil field. He attended the Haleville Union Mission Church. He enjoyed working around the house by mowing and keeping up the yard work and tinkering with mechanical work. Layman will be missed by his family and friends who cherished there time spent with him.

Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home at 730 N Main Avenue, Weston, WV on Sunday, May, 30th, 2021 from 11:30am-12:30pm with a Graveside Service following at 1:30pm at Hiney Hill Cemetery in Linn, WV with Pastor Mike Riffle officiating.
