Obituary for Laura Jean Taylor (Metz)

Laura Jean Taylor, 86, of Copley Road Weston went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lewis County on January 24, 1933: daughter of the late Lash Metz and Estella (Dooley) Metz. On September 6, 1949, she married Oren T. Taylor, who preceded her in death on October 7, 2001.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by one daughter: Beverly (Taylor) Richards and husband Wilbert of Copley, five sons: Robert O. Taylor and wife Marsha, Phillip Joe Taylor, Steven Patrick Taylor and wife Bonnie, Ricky Taylor and wife Karen and Thomas Taylor and wife Regina all of Copley, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Oren, Jean was preceded in death by one grandson: Robert James Taylor, 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mrs. Taylor was a glassworker with the Colonial Glass Factory of Weston and later worked at the Alkahn Label Factory. Her favorite job was being a homemaker where she loved to cook and spend time with her grandkids. She will be missed by all her loving family and friends. Jean was a Methodist by faith.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Wease Day officiating.
