Obituary for Larry Dean Brown
Larry Dean Brown, 84, of Ocala, FL (formerly of Weston, WV) passed away on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024 in E. W. Catos House in Ocala, FL. He was born in Falls Mill, WV on December 8th, 1939: son of the late Dixon L. Brown and Lavina Ethel (Smith) Brown. On April 27th, 1965, he married Margaret (Dolan) Brown, who preceded him in death on June 10th, 2015.
Larry will be remembered fondly by one brother: David Myron Brown and wife Joyce A. of Florida and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife Margie, Larry was preceded in death by three sisters: Margaret Lenore Shearer, Lois Ann Riffle and Christina May Warren and five brothers: Keith Allen Brown, Roger Oliver Brown, Dixon Leroy Brown, Rodney Howard Brown and Clayton Arnold Brown.
Mr. Brown was a graduate of Jane Lew High School with the class of 1958. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Berlin Crisis in 1959. Larry and his wife Margie were co-owners of Weston Transfer and Jack’s Septic service companies of Weston. He attended the Episcopal Church. Larry was a member of the Weston Lodge #10 A.F. & A.M., Bigelow Chapter #4, St. Johns Commandery #8, and Nemesis Shrine Temple of Parkersburg, WV. Larry was also active in many other civic organization of Weston. He will be missed by many friends and family members.
At Larry’s wishes, he was cremated in Florida and a graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from the Weston Masonic Cemetery with Reverend Dwayne Brown officiating. Weston Lodge #10 A.F. & A.M. will conduct graveside rites. Interment will follow in the Brown section of Weston Masonic Cemetery.
