Obituary for Kenneth Wayne Alfred

Kenneth Wayne Alfred, 64, of Alum Bridge passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born in Lawton, OK on May 19th, 1957, son of the late Oran Dale Alfred and Marjorie (Sullivan) Alfred. On January 5th, 2005, Kenneth married Luann (Ables) Alfred.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Luann Alfred, 2 daughters: Amber Fast and husband Shawn of Alum Bridge, WV and Maria Burdick (Dan) of Erie, PA, 1 son: Brandon Warner of Olmstead Falls, OH, 1 step-son: JP Harris of Clarksburg, WV, 7 grandchildren: Jonathan Groner, Payten Trippett, Hannah Trippett, Landen Fast, Izabella Fast, Natalie Burdick and Lyla Burdick, 2 sisters: Connie Myers of Mt Clemens, MI and Susie Alfred and fiancé Dave of Camden, WV and 1 brother: Eddie Alfred (Donna) of Alum Bridge, WV.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by 2 brothers Jay Alfred and Steve Alfred.

Kenneth was a graduate of Lewis County High School class of 1976. After graduating, Kenneth joined the United States Navy in 1976 gaining the rank of TM2. After his term of enlistment in the Navy, Kenneth became a Circulation Manager for several newspapers in and out of West Virginia. He was a Christian by faith. Kenneth took pride in being a single father who raised his daughter Amber from the age of 2 on his own. He was an outdoors man and loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed watching football especially the Cleveland Browns. Kenneth cherished time spent with his grandchildren gardening, picking berries and riding buggies.

Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, September 18th, 2021 from 11:00am-1:00pm. The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow services at Rock Grove Cemetery in Linn, WV with full military honors by the United States Navy and the Lewis County Honor Guard.
