Obituary for Karl Tyne Staubly

Karl Tyne Staubly, 85, of Weston died Friday, July 31st, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following an extended illness. Karl was born in Washington D.C., on May 1st, 1935 to Ralph Franklin Staubly and Margaret Tyne Staubly who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son, Ronald Kurt Staubly and his brother Ronald Tyne Staubly.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judith Ann Staubly: his daughter Victoria Diane Staubly, and 5 grandchildren: Sadie Basem, Paige, Arden, Tessa, and Harrison Staubly. He is also survived by one sister: Linda Burke and one sister-in-law: Helen Staubly.

Karl was a graduate of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and he served in the U.S. Army for 3 and a half years. In his professional life he worked in various venues as a mental health worker and counselor in both Washington, D.C. and West Virginia.

Karl was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Weston where he served as secretary for the United Methodist Men’s Group for several years. He was also a member of the Lewis County Democratic Executive Committee. He was an active member of the Lewis County Habitat for Humanity and served as their President for several years. He helped to build several houses in Lewis County for local families.

Karl’s wish for cremation has been honored by Hardman Family Funeral Home. Fellowship time will be held at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston, WV on Saturday, August 7th, 2021 from 2:00-3:00pm. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor from the funeral home chapel at 3:00pm with Reverend Jim Martin officiating.
