Obituary for Judith Elaine Dennis
Judith Elaine Dennis, 73, of Weston went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021. She was born in Weston on December 14th, 1947 daughter of the late Paul Revere Pickens and Mary Elizabeth (Crites) Pickens of Wildcat, WV. Judy was united in marriage on January 22nd, 1996 to Andrew J. “Sonny” Dennis, Jr., who preceded her in death on August 25th, 2001.
Judy is survived by a sister: Wanda Meadows of Buckhannon, brother: Donal Pickens of Ireland, 3 nieces: Courtney Putnam, Mary Putnam and Heather Layman and 2 nephews: Rex Putnam and Dale Pickens.
In addition to her parents and husband, Judy was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Mary Gertrude Pickens and Willa Paulette Pickens and 1 brother: Paul Andrew Pickens.
Judy attended the Elijah Chapel United Methodist Church in Duffy. She was very proud and honored to organize the Worship Services and gospel music at Weston Manor. Judy’s faith in god was growing. Judy enjoyed listening to bluegrass and country music and was very knowledgeable of the song titles and artists. She had a passion for making crafts.
Judy’s wish for cremation has been honored by Hardman Family Funeral Home of Weston. A Memorial Service in memory of Judith will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Corey and Justin Matheny officiating. Fellowship time will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday for family and friends to visit and tell Judy stories.
