Obituary for James Dixie Wine

James Dixie Wine, 85, of Jane Lew passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Braxton County on August 26, 1933: son of the late Pearl Wine and Rose (Vankirk) Wine. On May 25, 1957, he married Wilma Faye (Metheny) Wine, who survives.
Mr. Wine was blessed with two daughters: Connie Hluszti and husband Gary of Creston, OH and Sonnie Looney (deceased), four grandchildren: Leslie Snare, Deanna Hluszti, Crystal Lesher, and James Lesher (deceased), seven great grandchildren: Nevaeh Horning, Paris Horning, Anissa Huff, Penelope Snare, Foster Snare, Dixie Mick and Lonnie Mick and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and daughter Sonnie, Dixie was preceded in death by two brothers: Lawrence and Dewie Wine, one sister: Mabel Wine and one sister-in-law: Wilma Wine.
Mr. Wine was a glassblower with West Virginia Glass Specialty Company of Weston with 16 years of service and also worked for the Kasper Foundry of Ohio for 30 years. He was a member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church of Weston. When he was able he enjoyed hunting.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Brian Plum officiating.
