Obituary for James B Williams
James Brine Williams, 87, of Alum Bridge passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in Braxton County Healthcare Center of Flatwoods, WV following an extended illness. He was born in Linn on February 9, 1933: son of the late Scott Williams and Blanche Oweta (Shackleford) Williams.
Mr. Williams is survived by one sister: Betty Williams of Alum Bridge and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by seven brothers: John, Ray, Otha, Hayward, June and Burton Williams and Dale Hefner and four sisters: Mary Williams, Marie Swiger, Burline Aylor and Zelma Spohn

Mr. Williams was an active farmer. He was always busy tinkering with farm equipment and taking care of livestock. He enjoyed gardening and yardwork. James was a Baptist by faith. He was good to everyone and would give the shirt off his back. Family was special to him and he would drop what he was doing and help them.
At his family’s request, a graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. from the family plot in Hiney Hill Cemetery in Gilmer County with Reverend Russell Furr officiating.
