Jacqueline “Jackie” (Montgomery) McClain, 94, of Weston went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2023 at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Weston. She had been under the care of Crestview Nursing Home in Jane Lew. She was born in Morgantown on June 15, 1928: daughter of the late Arvil and Eulah (Snyder) Montgomery. Jackie was united in marriage on October 5, 1946 to Charles McClain who preceded her in death in 1997.
Forever cherishing the life of Jackie are 2 children, Loretta Griffith of Buckhannon and Elizabeth Bookholt and husband James of Weston, 3 grandchildren, Kristin Anne Cregger, Randall Bookholt, and Mike Griffith, several great and great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Charles, Jackie was preceded in death by a son, Randall McClain and a brother, Larry Montgomery.
Jackie was a graduate of Walkersville High School. She worked as a psychiatric aide at the Weston State Hospital and as a cook for Lewis County Schools. She was a member of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church of Weston. Jackie was a seamstress and enjoyed reading, fishing, and camping. Most of all, Jackie loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Joe Shreve officiating.
