Obituary for Iris Carol Crislip (Ireland)
Iris Carol Crislip, 86, of Weston went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2020 in Crestview Nursing Home of Jane Lew surrounded by her family ending a noble fight for life following several health issues. She was born in Vadis, WV on September 14, 1933: daughter of the late O.W. Ireland and Lora (Alfred) Ireland. On December 24, 1950, she married Albert J. Crislip, who survives.
Carol is also survived by one daughter: Barbara Millhoff and husband Bob of Weston, one son: Larry D. Crislip and wife Barbara of Coden, AL, one grandson: Jeff Crislip and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crislip was preceded in death by one brother: James C. Ireland and two sisters: Agnes Potter and Euleta Jones, making her the last of her immediate family.
Mrs. Crislip was a housewife. She was a graduate of Weston High School. Earlier in life and before health issues made it difficult, Carol was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weston. Her hobbies include sewing, knitting, crocheting and working puzzles.
Carol never let her health issues affect her outlook on life and was proud of the life she led. Her family remembers her great stories for any situation. Their family visits, Thanksgivings and especially Christmas were special. They remember being spoiled by her love.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman Family Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Ken Miller officiating.
