Gladis Geraldine Rinehart, 85, of Jane Lew passed away Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021 at United Hospital Center. She was born on August 4th, 1935 to the late Oswald Messenger and Flora (Neal) Messenger. Gladis was united in marriage on August 9th, 1958 to Rennard Rinehart who preceded her in death on August 19th, 2009.

Cherishing the memories and time spent with her mother is one daughter Beverly Howes and husband Wallace Keith Jr. of Good Hope and one son-in-law Michael L. Riffle. In addition to her parents and husband, Gladis was preceded in death by one daughter Sharon Riffle, six brothers: Hartzel Messenger, Clifford Messenger, Clarence Messenger, Russell Messenger, Lawrence Messenger, Bernard Messenger and five sisters: Zana Matthews, Stacie Murphy, Kathleen Murphy and 2 infants.

Gladis was a glassworker for Mason Glass. She attended the Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church in Jane Lew and then the New Bethel United Methodist Church of Good Hope. Gladis enjoyed canning, crafting, reading and working puzzles. Gladis loved being at home caring for her family. She will be missed by all who loved her.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden in Jane Lew at 1:00pm with Reverend Ron Brown officiating. Interment will follow. Online condolences and life stories in memory of Gladis may be expressed at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com.
