Obituary for Georgia Ann Feathers

Georgia Ann Feathers, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2019 in Morgantown due to a sudden illness. She was born November 7, 1936 to Claude Foster and Levy Mae (Hudnali)Foster. Georgia was married to her longtime friend and love, Allen Feathers, who preceded hert in death.
For many years, Georgia worked as a home care provider for the elderly and would also provide daycare for a few friends. Georgia enjoyed making quilts, gardening, and most of all she loved to go to yard sales. Her hands were rarely still. She also shared her love with coffee and her great food. such as pizza and cannot forget her tall glass of ice filled with the crisp taste of Pepsi or Coca Cola. She had a sense of humor that would make you laugh for days. Her life was a living example of a strong independent hard-working woman who has shown others that life is a journey and that you can get through anything no matter hard it can get.
Georgia is survived by one sister: Kathleen Bennett, and several nieces and nephews and three deceased brothers: Charles, Thomas and Walker Foster and one deceased sister :Mary Foster. Georgia was mother of loving children: Hazel Metz and husband Sonny, Brenda Byrd and husband James, Martha A. Straley, Donald Ferrell and late wife Lisa and Atha Cowgar and late wife Debra. She also had 17 grandchildren: and on deceased grandchild: Gene Cowgar, Tina Cowgar, Little Sonny Metz and wife Lisa, William T. Knight, II, Amanda Knight, Amantha Straley, James(Bub) Byrd, and wife Angel, Chris Byrd and fiancé Samantha, Georgia Cowgar, Brandy Cowgar, Lou Byrd, Mark and Joe Metz and one deceased granddaughter: Annie Knight and 16 great-grandchildren: Taylor McDougal, Alexis McDougal, Zoey Byrd, Kloe Byrd, Jamie Byrd, Matt Lann, Izzy Byrd, Douglas Knight, Bryson Knight, Jonathan Knight, Marcus Knight, Steven Knight, Kylie Knight, McKeena Metz, Megan Metz and Madison Metz.
“Granny” you will be missed by many friends and family. You stood tall through all your beliefs and obstacles that came your way. Your strong will has been passed down through your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren along with friends. Your strength carried many of us through difficult times . You show us giving up was not an option. Your smile and laughter will be dearly missed.
Friends and family will gather at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Wease Day officiating.
