Obituary for Genelea Marie Grose
Genelea Marie Grose, 88, of Weston, WV went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2021 in United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, WV. She was born at Buckhorn Run, Gilmer County, January 24th, 1933, a daughter of the late Emily Elva Adams and Emery Adams. On February 16th, 1952, she was married to her loving husband Harry Grose, who survives.
Mrs. Grose is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Wade and husband Larry of Grantsville and Melanie Reed and husband Gene of New Milton. She is also survived by two sons, Michael Grose and wife Debbie of Berlin and Timothy Grose and wife Sherry of Camden. She is survived by 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Grose is survived by one sister, Geneva Matheny of Sisterville.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grose is preceded in death by three sisters, Margurete Broadwater, Kathleen Sleeth and Helen Bush and three brothers, James, Raymond, and Denzil Adams.
Mrs. Grose was a devout Christian and a member of Horizon’s Church. She was a faithful pianist at many churches throughout her lifetime and played for many weddings and funerals. Mrs. Grose was a homemaker, quilter and wonderful cook. She was very creative and wrote many beautiful poems. Mrs. Grose enjoyed having the whole family in during holidays, cooking for them and playing with the little ones. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and love her.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a private family service will be held at Hardman Family Funeral Home in Weston, WV on Thursday, February 25th, 2021 with Reverend Mark Evans officiating.
