Mike (Gary) McWhorter,74, of Weston, WV passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019 at his home. He was born Oct 9, 1944 in Clarksburg to the late Thurston and Myrtle Johns McWhorter and grew up with his late brother, Francis McWhorter. Thurston was a barber and electroligist and Myrtle was a hairdresser and electroligist.
Mike graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh 1966 with a degree in industrial engineering and received a Master’s degree in business from Baldwin Wallace University in Cleveland.
He had a passion for life, loved the outdoors and going on adventures. He was quick witted and liked to make people laugh. He found peace in god and enjoyed sharing his joy of church at the Centerbranch Church.
He is survived by his son Lee Mathew McWhorter, grandchildren Breanna and Ian McWhorter and his daughter Lynne Ann Hood.
Keeping with Mike’s free spirit, he was cremated. There will be no services. Family and friends are asked to remember him when you go into God’s great outdoors or when you go to your local church.
