Obituary for Gary Lee Heater

Gary Lee Heater departed this life on Sunday, September 3, 2023. He was born on September 10, 1957 in Weston to the late Gale, Jr. and Edith Mae (Gould) Heater.

On August 4, 1995, he was united in marriage to Patricia (McKisic Langford) Heater. They enjoyed 28 years of happiness together and she will miss him dearly. They had four children, Daniel Heater of Jane Lew, Robert Heater of Jane Lew, Daniel Langford and wife Melissa of St. Thomas, PA, and Sara Simmons and husband Elijah of Jane Lew. He was the proud grandpa to 10 grandkids, Hope Vasquez, Faith Vasquez, Grace Langford, Benjamin Langford, Paige Simmons, Elias Simmons, Callie Simmons, Quinton Simmons, Heston Simmons, and Augustus Simmons.

In addition to his immediate family, Gary is survived by one sister, Teresa Kincaid of Jane Lew, one sister in law, Debbie Heater of Jane Lew, and one brother in law, Joe Montgomery of Pennsboro, as well as many nieces, nephews, and uncles, Larry and Carl Lee Heater.

Gary was a Christian by faith. He was a loyal glass worker for 28 years at the Louie Glass Factory. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a lifelong enthusiast of tractors and all things farming.

Gary was preceded in death by both his parents, two brothers, Donnie and Craig Heater, and one sister, Cathy Montgomery.

Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home, 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston, on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob Martin Hoover officiating. Interment will follow services at Broad Run Cemetery in Jane Lew. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to Hardman Family Funeral Home, P. O.
