Obituary for Frances Jean Smith

Frances Jean Smith, 81, of Weston passed away at her residence on Saturday, April 3rd, 2021 with her loving family by her side. Frances was born on June 10th, 1939 in Grafton, WV to the late Eddie Jackson Rush and Oleta Ethel (White) Rush. She was also preceded in death by a step dad Erlo Smith. Frances was united in marriage on March 4th, 1957 to her loving husband Robert Brenton Smith who preceded her in death on February 20th, 1998.

Frances is survived by a daughter Mary Esther Ramsburg and husband George of Weston, 2 grandchildren: Kimberly Geer and husband Randy and Brenton Ramsburg and wife Chrystal, 3 great-grandchildren: Brandon Kelly and wife Makyla, Kamryn Ramsburg and Gunnar Ramsburg, a great-great grandchild Casen Kelly, 2 brothers: Buck Rush and wife Debbie of Weston and Erlo Smith and wife Janet of Weston, 2 sisters: Barbara Sue Turner and husband Matthew of Weston and Betty Rush of Weston and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by a daughter Phoebe Jane Carpenter, 4 great-grandchildren: George Edward Ramsburg, Brenton Isaac Ramsburg, Kendall Marie Ramsburg and Kayden Ivy Ramsburg, a brother Jack Rush and one infant brother, 2 step brothers and 2 step sisters.

Frances was a housekeeper at the State Hospital in Weston and Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston for many years. When able she was a faithful member of the Haleville Union Mission Church in Weston. Frances loved her family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible.

A Graveside Service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Russell Furr officiating.
