Obituary for Ethlemae Pickens Smith
Ethlemae Pickens Smith, 86, of Camden passed away on Thursday, May 20th, 2021 at her home. She was born in Ripley, WV on July 7th, 1934 daughter of the late Ira Pickens and Bertha Casto. On August 14th, 1956 she married Perry Lee Smith who preceded her in death.
Ethlemae is survived by one brother Larry Pickens and wife Terri of Ripley, her God daughter Jessica Taylor and daughter Bailee of Camden whom lived with her and cared for her, God son Josh Taylor of Kincheloe, several nieces and nephews and a special friend Arvie Bergstrom of Los Angeles, CA.
Ethlemae graduated from Ripley High School. She was a member of Churchville United Methodist Church. She worked at Lewis County Summit Center. Ethlemae loved game shows, cross-words and her cats Gizmo, Lucky and Oakley and dog Amos.
The family would like to thank her caretakers Breanne Hefner, Taylor Beckner, Maxine Cole, Amy Gibson and Vicki Goldsmith for their loving care the past six months.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 at 2:00PM in the family plot of Snyder Cemetery with Reverend Martin Wine and Reverend Steve White officiating. Online condolences and life stories in memory of Ethlemae may be expressed at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com.
