Obituary for Emmagene Gaston (Warner)
Emmagene (Warner) Gaston, age 83, of Jane Lew, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021. She was born in Weston, WV on December 23, 1937, daughter of the late Laco G. Warner, Sr. and Geraldine (Cox) Warner. On June 30, 1955, Emmagene was united in marriage to James R. Gaston, Sr., who survives. They shared a wonderful 66 years together.
Forever cherishing Emmagene’s life is her husband James, 2 children: Terry Small (Mike) of Jane Lew and James R. “Rick” Gaston, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Fairmont, 3 grandchildren: Jennifer Owen (Landon) of Johnson City, TN, James R. “Jarid” Gaston, III (Angie) of Fairmont, WV, and Christian Hughes (John) of Weston, WV, 5 great grandchildren: Anderson “AJ” Owen, Adeline “Addie” Owen, Aubrey Gaston, Brittan Hughes, and Noah Hughes, 3 sisters: Peggy (Lowell) Lemmons of Ohio, Karen Ralston of Weston, and Mary Jo (Jerry) Hull of Camden, 1 brother: Laco Warner, Jr. of Weston, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Emmagene graduated from Weston High School from the class of 1955. She was a member of the St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Weston. Emmagene and her husband owned and operated the Gem Furniture Store, the Specialty Shop, and the Alleyside Restaurant. She retired from the Lewis County Health Department. Emmagene enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, and most of all being with family and friends.
