Obituary for Emma Virnia Snider (Riffle)

Emma Virnia Snider, 94, of Orlando, WV went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 16th, 2021 at her home. She was born in Kemper, WV on December 15th, 1926: daughter of the late George Henry Riffle and Ora Myrtle (Spaur) Riffle. On June 21st, 1947, she married Overt Martin Snider, who preceded her in death on November 5th, 1991.

Cherishing her memory is her only daughter: Betty Jo Heater and her husband Charlie Franklin Heater of Orlando. WV. She is also survived by one sibling: Jeannie Riffle Williston of Falls Run, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Overt, Emma was preceded in death by six siblings: Lester Riffle, Alta Riffle Cooper, Burl Riffle, Cecil Riffle, George Riffle and Mary Katherine Riffle.

Mrs. Snider retired from the Glenville State College Library as a custodian. She was a member of the College Street United Methodist Church of Glenville. Emma liked family history and also Civil War history. Her hobbies were working in her garden, she loved all types of flowers and having them in her garden. Her greatest love was visiting with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

Emma’s wishes for cremation have been honored through Hardman Family Funeral Home of Weston and a graveside service will be held in Pisgah Cemetery in Gilmer County at the convenience of the family.
