Emery “Pete” Lee Byrd, 79, of Weston was called Home by his Lord and Savior to be with his wife Charlotte on Wednesday, February 24th, 2021 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lewis County on October 12th, 1941 to the late Charles W. Byrd and Mary Helen (Shoulders) Byrd. Pete was united in marriage to Charlotte Claudette Byrd on April 17th, 1966, who preceded him in death on February 15th, 2021.
Pete is survived by 3 daughters: Mary Kathy Byrd of Weston, Frankie Renee Cutlip and husband Randy of Copley and Traci Butcher and husband Bill Jr. of Copley, 6 grandchildren: Randy Cutlip Jr. and wife Brandi, Emery Cutlip, Rachel Carpenter and husband Bryan, Charles “Charlie” Ray Conrad II and wife Alisha, Katlyn White and Keeane Butcher, 10 great-grandchildren:Meranda Conrad, Jakoby Cutlip, Macada Cutlip, Axol Carpenter, Hila Carpenter, Lucas Skinner, Hadeline Cutlip, Makeelyn Butcher, Bexlee “Becky” Moody and Oaklee Paige Moody, a brother James Byrd and wife Brenda of Weston, a sister Treva “Cookie” Booher and husband Richard of Ludlow Falls, OH and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Pete was also preceded in death by his brother Louie Byrd.
Pete was a devout Christian and member of the Haleville Union Mission Church. He worked as a well tender for Pennzoil for 30 plus years before retiring. Pete had a passion for taking pictures and was known to have a camera on him at all times to capture the moment. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with his family, especially his grandkids. Pete was a family man and enjoyed every minute spent with them.
Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston, WV on Tuesday, March 2nd 2021 from 12:00PM-2:00PM. A private family funeral service will be held at 2:00PM from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Riffle officiating.
