Obituary for Edward Cline Craig
Hard working hands and a pillar of Southern Lewis County, Edward Cline Craig, 82, of Walkersville, has taken his final journey on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born in Walkersville, WV on October 23, 1940, son of the late W. I. Craig and Clara Hull Craig. Cline was united in marriage on December 31, 1990 to Judy K. Hughes Craig, who survives.
Cherishing the life of Cline are his wife, Judy, 2 daughters; Kim Craig Bleigh and significant other Gary Workman of Walkersville and Missy Workman of Walkersville, a son, Jody Craig of Walkersville, 2 step sons; Donnie West and wife Shelia of Walkersville and Andy Gooch and wife Stacy of Killen, AL, step daughter, Anita Smith of Killen , AL, 7 grandchildren; Brandi Bleigh Francis and significant other Phillip Higham, Ashley West Stamper, Eric West, Erin West Schwartzmiller, Sam West, Ryan Craig, and Matt Garrett, 3 step grandchildren; Marcus Smith, Miles Smith, and Tyler Gooch, 5 great grandchildren; Alyvia Bleigh, Harley Francis, Isaac Francis, Mya Craig, and Reed Garrett, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Cline was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Bleigh and 2 brothers, Jimmy and Willard Craig.
Cline graduated Walkersville High School in 1959 with the honor of being Valedictorian. He was an entrepreneur by nature owning and operating Tri Lakes Convenience Store of Walkersville and Craig and Son Lumber Company. Cline served on the Lewis County Board of Education for 30+ years. He also was a member of the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Department and the Knights of Pythias. Cline was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, and being outdoors. He adored his dog, Rowdy, whom he loved to spoil. Cline’s kind and caring heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home, 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 1 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Earl Cayton officiating.
