Obituary for Edna Jane Kemper (Moore)

Edna Jane (Moore) Kemper, 77, of Camden, passed away on Wednesday, August 11th, 2021 at her home following an extended illness. She was born on February 4th, 1944 in Gilmer County, WV to the late Alfred and Martha (Grogg) Moore. Edna graduated from Tanner High School in 1962.

On June 28th, 1963, Edna married William “Bill” Kemper, who survives. Together they shared 58 wonderful years and raised 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Forever cherishing their memories of Edna are her husband Bill Kemper, 3 children: Pam Kemper of Weston, Dianna (DP) Jones of Nelson, VA and Doug Kemper of Camden, 10 grandchildren: Kyle Grose, Kayla Layne, Kara Grose, Julie Aiken, Jennifer Jackson, Samuel Jones, Christie Patterson, Nate Kemper, Isaac Kemper and Emily Kemper, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters: Lenora Huff, Kay Miller and Jean Nolan, 1 brother: Bob Moore and several nieces and nephews. Edna also had her very own angel as a caregiver, Karen Hardman, a special thanks and appreciation to Dawn Fraser as well.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by 1 sister: Mary Ferguson and 5 brothers: Eugene Grogg, William Moore, Harry Moore, Jim Moore and Ray Moore.

Before her illness, Edna cooked daily for her family. She was a homemaker for her family and loved every moment. Edna also worked hard on the farm and in the hayfield. She liked to collect Claude Kemper’s wood carved birds and listen to Gospel and Christmas music. Edna had a wonderful personality and never met a stranger. She will be missed dearly by family and friends. Edna attended the Freemansburg United Methodist Church.

The family would like to thank WVU Medicine Hospice and especially Adam for the great care Edna received.

Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue, Weston on Saturday, August 14th, 2021 from 4:00-7:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 15th, 2021 from the funeral home chapel at 2:00pm with Reverend Kenny Kendall officiating. Interment will follow services at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden in Jane Lew. Online condolences and life stories in memory of Edna may be expressed at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com.
