Obituary for Dorcas Elaine Conrad
Reverend Dorcas Elaine Linger Conrad, 66, of Weston entered eternal life on Thursday, January 21st, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on August 12th, 1954 in Weston to the late Dana Linger and Brenice Childers Linger. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Timothy G. Conrad, on October 9th, 1976 who survives.
Dorcas is also survived by a son Ian Conrad of Huntington, WV, a brother Nelson Linger and wife Casie of Horner, WV, a niece Alison Linger, and two nephews Nathan Linger and Matthew Linger.
Dorcas was a graduate of Lewis County High School class of 1972. She went on to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, WV and graduated with a degree in Christian Education in 1976. Dorcas then attended the Methodist Theological School in Ohio and obtained her Master’s in Divinity. She served many United Methodist Churches throughout West Virginia and was a very active member of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Weston. Her passion in life was to mentor new women and men into ministry.
A private family visitation was held at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston, WV on Sunday, January 24th, 2021. Following visitation and at Dorcas’ request she will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on her birthday August, 12th, 2021 at 4:00pm with fellowship time from 3:00-4:00pm at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Weston, WV.
