Donna Darlene (Metz) White, 65, of Weston passed away on Monday, December 27th, 2021, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston. She was born February 7th, 1956 in Weston, daughter of the late Lash “June” and Ethel (Burkhammer) Metz. Donna is married to James White of Cowen, WV. In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by 1 son: Roger L. Carpenter, 2 brothers: Tommy and Sonny Metz, and 2 sisters: Nancy Harris and Charlotte Byrd.
Cherishing Donna’s life are 2 sons: Brian and Michael Carpenter both of Weston, her grandson Christian Combs, whom she raised as her own, 6 grandchildren: Holly Case of Ohio, Tosh Case of Weston, Lucas “Casey” Case of Spencer, Taylor Shock, Georgia Carpenter of Weston, and Paige Carpenter of Burnsville, 12 great grandchildren and one on the way, 1 brother: Tim Metz and wife Judy of Valley Chapel, 1 sister: Mary Stump and husband Bill of Weston, 2 sister in laws: Anna Metz and Hazel Metz, a very special Aunt Helen Riddle of Copley and several nieces and nephews.
Donna retired from Cowen Nursing Home as a housekeeper. She was Methodist by faith. She enjoyed watching television and talking on the phone. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, December 30th, 2021 from 11AM-1PM. The funeral service will begin at 1PM from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chad Metz officiating. Interment will follow services at Lewis County Memorial Gardens in Weston.
